1. saṁhatiḥ çreyase sthemne bhidā vidhvaṁsakārinī ,
United we stand; divided we fall.

atyārūḍhirbhavati mahatāmapyapabhraṁçaniṣṭhā ,
All rise must end in a fall.
3. atidarpe hatā lañkā ,
Pride goeth before a fall.
4. upakāraḥ pratyupakāreṇa niryātayitanyaḥ ,

5. atiparicayādavajñā bhavati ,
